This is Ananya Pratap Singh, an Advocate, Arbitrator and Academician currently based in New Delhi, India. My areas of practice includes advising and representing the clients primarily in the areas of International Commercial Arbitration, Insurance/Reinsurance law, Maritime Laws including the Marine Insurance, Maritime Arbitration, International Sale of Goods Carried by Sea, Carrier’s Liability/Product Liability Laws, International Trade Laws and Taxation Laws. I also have the experience of advising the clients in the matters related with the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, Gaming Laws, Information & Technology Laws and providing secretarial, regulatory and compliance related services to the clients in these fields. My work experience includes working with CSL Chambers, an associated firm of Clyde & Co., in India and with John Wilson Partners, Sri Lanka in addition to several internships divided in litigation chambers of Judge, Senior Counsels and full-service corporate, commercial, IP and litigation law firms in India and in Singapore.

I was awarded the Member grade by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators in 2018. I have also pursued and passed the Fellowship Assessment Course Examination organised by the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators in 2018. Currently, I am part of the Publications & Website Committee of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. In addition, I regularly sit as an arbitrator and coach teams in leading international moot court competitions such as the Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot and the likes.

I am also pursuing my Ph.D in International Commercial Arbitration at the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka under the supervision of Dr Lawrence Boo and Dr Dilini Pathirana. I earned an LL.M in International Business Laws from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). I was called to the Bar Council of India in 2017 and to the Bar Council of Delhi, India in 2016. In addition to my practice of law, I also teach the modules of International Commercial Arbitration and Insurance Laws to the students at Lloyd’s law College, India. In this blog, I provide insightful case updates primarily in the field of international commercial arbitration from India, Singapore, and the UK.
